Sorry this one isn't in a larger format, old picture.
My brother happily caught his nemesis pond turtle he had dubbed Ogo Pogo.
He showed him off and I took some pictures.
This is why snapping turtles are somewhat infamous for their aggression. He snapped off the stick my brother poked him with, and brandished it menacingly.
Real attitude on this turtle. ;)
And to assure you, we just moved him to another pond, we did not eat or run over this turtle.
They may be curmudgeons, but snapping turtles are welcome here. And just look at those legs! Those scales and claws, like dwarf dragon creature. :aww:

I think so too.
Not the most social bugger in the world, but he had his charm.

He is a threatening one for sure. Great picture! Glad you preserved him.

I could never kill something like that, unless it was gnawing my leg off.
They are just such neat little buggers, even if they are a little surly. ;)

Really grand snapper, they can certainly have an attitude, I have run across them now and again, especially in the southern swamps. :D

Yeah, they are more common South of us, but we have our share.
And they are such short tempered little things, but always fun to see.

Hah! I was totally just about to name a deviation that!! I found a couple snails over the weekend and was taking some pictures, two out of the three were happy to get in their shells when I came close, but one of them I actually had to poke one of its eye stalks to get it to go back in the shell (so I could put them back in the garden).
