Lady Death- final version by InKibus Lady Death- final version by InKibus
The raw scan can be seen here.

And actually, there is another version to it, less touched up and tweaked than this. But I figured I get this up and away.
Part of :iconkasia88:'s Alternative Grim Reaper contest.

I made it a somewhat demure hooded woman, with a sickly-light latern. The yellow light and hood are in the theme that the color yellow often associated with death and dying.
The candle in a window is sort of symbolizing someone's light, but the light of death is stronger.
And you do not want it outside your window.
Hope she does not pause under your window.
I wanted somewhat softer colors instead of harsh shadows and darkness. I hope it doesn't look too EasterTime-multicolored.
Model is me, original photo here- [link]
A bit of credit on the stone was goes to a postcard of the town of St. Ursanne, sent by :icongraemeskinner: and his wife. ;)

And I will eventually upload a huge version of it, but I cannot upload anything very large this point. I have sat here for a half hour and DA keeps timing out. Ai ai ai.

Your work is getting better and better each time I see a new drawing.... the lighting in this one is excellent. I love the detail in the background

Thanks! I used Corel Photopaint, and mostly airbrushed points, emphasized the dark and the lantern, then tweaked to get the full darkness i wanted.
I am not great at digital work, I just dab a little color and such, but this was my best effort for something like that. :)

InKi, this is one of your best pieces to date, IMHO. Really great work on the colors, lighting and texture.

Oooh! I like the texture on the cloak. Also, everything I liked in the previous version.
The light seems a bit odd though, it's like everything it hits is brighter than the source of the light.
But you've got a great atmosphere going.

Thank you so much! I really was 100 percent certain what o do with the latern, make it overpowering all the other light or not, so i just made it surreal. Next time, i think I'll make it a little 'dimmer'.

I like the soft lighting! It seems that she isn't that 'grim' - just quiet, and inevitable.

Love the mood in this one. It's not really dark just quiet and reflective. Very nice!
