Okay, that's why I uploaded this [link] to scraps, for people to get a general reference of what they are seeing. 4 years ago =FrockTarts and I opened the door to go to the coop, and the world was blazing red.
The hills, our view from the coop, looked like Mordor.
The mill at the base of our mountain, several miles down at the valley, was on fire. Well, okay, the copious piles of slab detritus was on fire. We could smell it from here, and watched lights of emergency vehicles and helicopter whirling around it.
Like Mordor, no if ands, or buts.
For perspective, those pictures are just about taken from the exact same spot and camera setting.
Sounds similar to one night at my house we looked out into the pasture and across the creek and there was a massive fire going. They were building a house over there and we figured it was the house going up but it was just a pile of cleared brush and tree's. This was in the middle of fire season and a burn ban was in effect so the fire department came and put it out. Not such a great thing to have 50 foot flames shooting into the sky during the middle of fire season.
