I know he offended and ticked off people, but his nature was to speak his

Hello all.

I hope you have your electric, you have gotten to where you plan to go or are there already, your plans are not interrupted, your dinner is delicious, you are surrounded by people you like to be in close proximity too,  and
you are happy this season.
And if you love snow, I hope you have so damn much of it you are doing this

Life remains full unexpected turns (and the expected ones as well) and the continual strain of just trying to get by is evident for almost everyone I know right now.
Hopefully, you are managing along and have a moment to reflect , good or bad.


So, whether it's the Winter Solstice, school break, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Year, or the week off, I hope you have a peaceful season and a  wonderful New Year.

firstly first, I am cleaning up my gallery.
Nooooo, I am not really deleting anything. I'm too sentimental to do that.
You'll have to browse to see everything I've posted when you visit my main gallery.
And, of course, checking out the folders of my work with show you specifically what you are looking for.
I know, I hate to think people looking at my gallery will miss pieces they'd enjoy because I make them harder to see.
But then again, I don't want my gallery so annoyingly loaded with work that Deviants will be put off.
It's actually a bit satisfying taking a moment to put some old deviations away that are from my first year, I feel I've progressed beyond them. (I do personally love coming across a Deviant and going through their gallery to see a fledgling that's clearly developed wings over time, though. )
Anyhow, nice and tidy in there. A lot less spam.
Wait, did you say Spamalot?
I had the wonderful experience of being treated by my brother and his friends to going, along with , , and to a stellar touring production of Spamalot.
I love Monty Python, and had followed the 2005 stage rendition with eagerness, but never got around to seeing or hearing much of any of it.And of course, those of us brave enough, went in costume, no less.
(Alas, we were the ONLY ones in costume!)
So, if you saw a Patsy running around, that was me.
The production was wonderful and the cast terrific. See it in your life-time, Monty python fan or not.

What can I say?
Thank you all for all the comments, pageviews, :glomps:, creative critiques, and daily art.
Deviant Art is such an intergral facet with my existence.

And also, have you done YOUR part to be a good Deviant?
Has anyone else gotten that vibe that DA isn't as shiny and exciting as it used to be?
I'm not gauging this feeling on my feelings alone, but the recent spread of Deviant Articles
and Devious Journal entries lamenting 'remember the good ol' early days....'
Deviant Art is truly not the Wild West it was 10 years ago, nor quite the shimmering dance floor of
energy that it was the 4 years ago when I joined.
Times changes, people change, we grow, we grow in and out of things but perhaps most of all;
the inter-net continues to morph like the cosmic entity it is.

Well, to be sure, of course there's more people and more garbage to wade through after so many years.
But you get what you give, so why not take some time to
Give A Little?
Oh c'mon, I am not trying to sell you anything (I'd love to) but
what not take a few minutes and make DA what it was and still is?

Take a few minutes each day, and actually look at some art in your Da-watch.
I am not telling you to comment or fav or go through every piece.
But the more you interact, the more interaction you will get.
And generally, most of us are here for the exposure.


I too have thousands of pieces in my DA watch. I can never comment or view all of them.
But I make an affort to at least go through each folder and look, I'd hate to miss a hidden gem, and all diamonds require a wee bit of digging for.

The war between 'Not commenting is rude/ I only fav/ I only comment when I fav, etc.' rages on.
Don't try to comment on every piece in your watch , you will start developing grey hair if you watch as many people as I do.
But try this;

We are all capable of giving opinions, critique, praise, so lets do it and stop the 'OMG! That's nice!'
Don't you like to come into you messages and actually see a THOUGHTFUL remark about your work?

Not all of us have subscriptions, but if you do.....

Easy, feature a piece, feature a theme, feature and artist.
It's a fun and free way to spread artworks to others who might not see them.


Have you notice most of the DD's as of late are suggested by the moderators?
That is their job, you say?
Not totally true.
It's OUR job to show them some deserving pieces they might miss otherwise.
I know, I know....
'I don't have time..... none of my suggestions get picked.... it's too much effort...
